"atheism is not a position"

A classification and a position are different constructs. For example, "things that are red in colour" is a classification, while "all stop lights are red" is a position, and one of the distinctions is that while a classification serves to group things that share one or more of the same characteristics, a position can be challenged to determine whether it is valid and/or accurate.
